As I'm little fascinated by drug addiction, there are two articles found on BoingBoing. First one states clear connection between bicycle thefts in Canada and metaamphetamine (Amsterdam and whole Netherlands: maybe that is the problem ?); and second is about the central role of the `love to the needle' in fighting heroin addiction.
